KATHY POLHEMUS DELIVERS SIGNATURES TO COLORADO SECRETARY OF STATE, WILL BE INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE FOR U.S. 6TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
(Denver, Colorado) – Kathy Polhemus, a declared independent candidate running to represent Colorado’s 6th Congressional District in the United States Congress, today delivered more than 3,200 signatures supporting her candidacy to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office in Denver to petition onto the general election ballot in November. By law, unaffiliated candidates must produce 800 valid signatures of registered voters supporting their candidacy to be included on the general election ballot.
Polhemus is focusing her candidacy on giving 6th district voters a strong, independent choice for their representative in Congress. Addressing supporters on the steps of the Capitol, Polhemus, a leader in nonprofit management, stated that, “The political system in Washington is broken. Every election we hear the same thing from the two political parties -- that it is the other party's fault for all that ails the nation. The truth is that both parties are to blame. While they bicker and point fingers, the country is facing incredibly difficult issues that aren't going to solve themselves and have become too large for our divided leadership to fix. If we want Washington to change, then we need to change who we send to Washington.”
“That's why I am running to represent Colorado's 6th Congressional District and I am asking for your support. Together we can take some common sense thinking to Washington and begin honestly solving the very real problems facing our country.”
